Blog Post 11

To me the library ethnography was a very useful assignment, I really never knew how to find books in our library until I did this assignment so it was a great assignment in my opinion, and what made it even better is I actually enjoyed doing it! It taught me how to look up and find books I want or need on the library catalog. You should definitely keep this assignment in your course next semester; I do not think there is a need to come up with something else. A topic that I wish we would have spent a little more time on was filter bubbles. We spent a good amount of time on it, but it was just very interesting to me because I have never heard of them. This topic intrigued me I didn’t know that sites can make your search results more direct for you based on where you are located and what you have searched most recently. Another topic that I would have loved to spend more time on was Common Rhetorical Devices; I think this topic is very interesting because a lot of companies use these devices when marketing their products. Thinking back I honestly don’t think there is anything that I can think of that we haven’t talked about in this class. I will be using the material we have covered in this class in classes like English 1102 when I take it in the spring. I have not used the researching skills that I have learned in my first two previous semesters here at UWG. I expect to apply these skills in other classes when I need to look up credible sources so I can have valid information in my work.

  1. The library ethnography project was extremely beneficial. It was a good way to get us in the library and finding books on the shelves. I believe all underclassmen college students should be highly recommended to take this course. I don't know how i would have learned some of the information otherwise.
